I have evaluated a heavy rare earth deposit in Kazakhstan as well as many of the non-Chinese rare earth deposits (eg Mt Weld, Mountain Pass, Kankankunde plus others) and advise caution when dealing with Russian resource estimates of rare earth deposits.

I lived in Alaska for over 8 years, in which time I did a lot of prospecting, mainly for gold. I happened upon an area that had a small amount of platinum. The surprise was that it also contained the rare earth Yttrium.
I left Alaska in 1988, but could still walk right exactly to the spot.
Anyone interested can contact me.
