US Silver Gains Four Percent

At $30.68 per ounce, US silver moved up four percent on August 23, 2012, the day’s biggest change. The price of Chinese silver increased 2.7 percent to CNY 6,270 ($986) per kilogram. Indian silver finished the day up 2.1 percent to INR 56,531 ($1,018) per kilogram. Japanese silver saw its price rise 0.8 percent to JPY 750.00 ($9.55) per 10 grams.

The price of US gold bullion has been on the rise for eight days and is now at $1,673 per ounce. For the seventh day in a row, the price of Chinese gold bullion rose and is currently at CNY 340.09 ($53.53) per gram. Indian gold bullion prices inched up 0.7 percent to INR 30,495 ($549) per 10 grams. Japanese gold bullion prices rose 0.3 percent to JPY 4,195 ($53) per gram.

The price of US platinum bar has been on the rise for eight days and is now at $1,554 per ounce. After a 1.7 percent increase, Japanese platinum bar finished the day at JPY 3,929 ($50) per gram. For the seventh day in a row, the price of Chinese platinum bar rose and is currently at CNY 322.00 ($50.69) per gram.

The price of US palladium bar climbed 3.5 percent to $651.00 per ounce. Chinese palladium bar gained 1.3 percent to finish at CNY 153.00 ($24.08) per gram. After two flat days, the price of Japanese palladium bar inched up 0.8 percent on Thursday to JPY 1,569 ($19).
