Aluminum Association President Heidi Biggs Brock sat down with MetalMiner during Aluminum Week in Chicago, detailing how aluminum producers are reacting to the looming “fiscal cliff.”
The Aluminum Association is lobbying the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on primary MACT regulations as well as secondary MACT regulations, according to association spokespeople at the Aluminum Week press roundtable, but that’s about as far as lobbying efforts are going.
There are no aluminum trade issues currently on the docket.
However, there is a large, potentially devastating deadline looming — the fiscal cliff.
Countless businesses in the metals industry could suffer from the potential fallout, but as Brock details in the video, many in the aluminum industry and aluminum production are already being affected.
