Daily Aluminum Roundup: Indian Primary Cash Price Up

On May 18, 2012, the day’s biggest mover was the Indian primary aluminum cash price, which saw a 2.4 percent increase to close out the week. On the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum declined 0.4 percent to $1,987 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the primary aluminum 3-month price saw little change in its price last Friday at $2,033 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day.

The price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady at between $2,600 and $2,650 per metric ton. Chinese aluminum billet stayed flat as well, holding at above $2,500 per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar was unchanged at between $2,200 and $2,250 per metric ton. The Chinese primary aluminum cash price showed little movement last Friday, hovering above $2,500 per metric ton.
