Daily Aluminum Roundup: LME Prices Down

Dropping 0.6 percent on the LME, the aluminum cash price was the biggest mover on May 22, 2012 on global aluminum markets, closing at $2,003 per metric ton.

The 3-month LME price of aluminum weakened by 0.5 percent, settling at $2,045 per metric ton. The cash price of primary Indian aluminum showed little movement on Tuesday, remaining below $2 per kilogram.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Tuesday.

The price of Chinese aluminum billet nudged up 0.3 percent on Tuesday, while the Chinese primary aluminum cash price saw little movement.

The price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady at above $2,600 per metric ton, and the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at above $2,200 per metric ton.
