Daily Aluminum Roundup: Indian Price Up, LME Declines

With a decline of 1.1 percent to $2,015 per metric ton on May 24, 2012, the LME aluminum 3-month price recorded the biggest shift of the day on global aluminum markets. The primary aluminum cash price weakened by 1.1 percent on the LME, settling at $1,974 per metric ton. The cash price of primary Indian aluminum increased 0.3 percent.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday.

The cash price of Chinese aluminum closed Thursday by halting its two-day flat run with a 0.4 percent decline. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw little movement at between $2,600 and $2,650 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum billet saw little change in its price on Thursday at above $2,500 per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar continues hovering around $2,200 per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
