Precious Metals Prices: Japanese Platinum Bar Down Nearly 2%

Japanese platinum bar saw the biggest price shift of the day, dropping 1.9 percent to close at JPY 3,654 ($46) per gram on June 12, 2012. Chinese platinum bar closed 1.3 percent lower at CNY 313.00 ($49.32) per gram. The price of US platinum bar closed at $1,438 per ounce. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.1 percent.

Japanese palladium bar finished the day down 1.9 percent to JPY 1,583 ($19) per gram. Chinese palladium bar prices saw a 0.7 percent decline to CNY 150.00 ($23.64) per gram. At $616.00 per ounce, US palladium bar fell 0.2 percent yesterday.

Some silver and gold prices were also down on the day.

Japanese gold bullion ended the day at JPY 4,063 ($51) per gram, after the 0.7 percent drop on Tuesday. The price of Chinese gold bullion held steady at CNY 327.30 ($51.58) per gram. The price of Indian gold bullion remained essentially flat at INR 29,584 ($530) per 10 grams. The price of US gold bullion was unchanged at $1,543 per ounce.

The price of Japanese silver declined 1.8 percent to JPY 721.00 ($9.08) per 10 grams. US silver gained 1.5 percent to finish at $28.83 per ounce. The price of Chinese silver fell 0.8 percent to CNY 6,010 ($947) per kilogram. The price of Indian silver showed little movement on Tuesday at INR 54,520 ($978) per kilogram.
