Chinese platinum bar improved by 3.2 percent, reaching CNY 327.00 ($51.32) per gram on the weekly Global Precious Metals MMI®. The price of US platinum bar increased by 2.8 percent over the past week to $1,481 per ounce. Japanese platinum bar rose 2.3 percent over the past week to JPY 3,809 ($48) per gram.
US palladium bar prices ticked up 1.9 percent over the past week to $629.00 per ounce. Chinese palladium bar saw its price rise 1.3 percent over the past week to CNY 153.00 ($24.01) per gram. Japanese palladium bar gained a slight 0.6 percent this past week, finishing at JPY 1,623 ($20) per gram.
Gold and Silver Price Trends
Following a 1.7 percent increase, Indian gold bullion finished the week at INR 30,086 ($542) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion rose 1.4 percent over the past week to CNY 332.30 ($52.15) per gram. Japanese gold bullion saw its price rise 0.9 percent over the past week to JPY 4,128 ($52) per gram. Closing at $1,543 per ounce, US gold bullion remained unchanged for the week.
The price of Japanese silver fell 1.5 percent to JPY 723.00 ($9.18) per 10 grams after rising 5.6 percent the week before. Following a 3.8 percent increase in the week prior, the price of Chinese silver fell 0.6 percent last week to CNY 6,025 ($945) per kilogram. The price of US silver rose 0.5 percent to $28.55 per ounce after falling 0.5 percent during the previous week. The price of Indian silver fell 0.3 percent to INR 54,342 ($980) per kilogram after rising 3.3 percent the week before.
