The Chinese aluminum cash price moved up 2.1 percent on June 25, 2012, making it the day’s biggest mover on our daily aluminum price index.
Following a quiet couple of days, the price of Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.6 percent on Monday, while for the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum bar held flat above $2,200 per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap continues hovering around below $2,600 per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.
The Indian aluminum cash price saw a 1.2 percent decline.
The 3-month price of aluminum weakened by one percent on the LME, settling at $1,864 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price declined one percent to $1,823 per metric ton.
