US copper producer grade 110 price saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising four percent on July 2, 2012. The price of US copper producer grade 122 climbed four percent as well.
Chinese copper prices were up to mixed for the day. Chinese copper wire finished the day up 1.8 percent. Chinese copper bar gained 1.2 percent and the cash price of Chinese copper rose 1.2 percent. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap remained steady.
The cash price of primary copper on the LME has been on the rise for seven days and is now at $7,604 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the copper 3-month price inched up 2.4 percent to $7,585 per metric ton.
The Japanese copper cash price remained essentially flat.
