Weekly Rare Earths Price Index: Prices Take Steep Fall

Following a 27.8 percent decline, samarium oxide finished as the week’s biggest mover on the weekly Rare Earths MMI®. Terbium metal dropped 13 percent over the past week. The price of yttria decreased by 10.6 percent decline from the previous week.

Praseodymium oxide prices also fell by 10 percent. The past week saw neodymium close down by 9.8 percent.

Dysprosium oxide saw a 7.1 percent drop-off this week. Europium oxide also saw a price drop though not as large, 6.6 percent. Neodymium oxide weakened by 4.1 percent. Terbium oxide fell 1.6 percent over the past week.

The only metals that held steady include cerium oxide, lanthanum oxide and rare earth carbonate remained unchanged for the week.
