US Palladium Bar Price Rises, Asian Platinum Prices Drop

On July 19, 2012, US palladium bar jumped up 1.2 percent, landing at $583.00 per ounce and making it the day’s biggest increase. At JPY 1,460 ($18) per gram, Japanese palladium bar fell 0.7 percent on Thursday. Chinese palladium bar ended the day at CNY 140.00 ($21.98) per gram, after the 0.7 percent drop yesterday.

The price of Japanese platinum bar declined 0.9 percent to JPY 3,564 ($45) per gram. The price of US platinum bar rose 0.9 percent to $1,417 per ounce after a two-day drop. Chinese platinum bar closed 0.3 percent lower at CNY 309.00 ($48.50) per gram.

Following a 0.6 percent rise yesterday, the price of US gold bullion closed at $1,586 per ounce. The price of Japanese gold bullion fell 0.5 percent to JPY 3,999 ($50) per gram. Chinese gold bullion prices saw a 0.2 percent decline to CNY 324.50 ($50.94) per gram. The price of Indian gold bullion held steady at INR 29,159 ($525) per 10 grams.

The price of Indian silver increased 0.6 percent to INR 51,942 ($936) per kilogram. At $27.40, the price of US silver finished the market day up 0.6 percent per ounce. Chinese silver held its value yesterday at CNY 5,765 ($904) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver showed little movement yesterday at JPY 690.00 ($8.74) per 10 grams.
