Global Precious Metals MMI®: US Palladium Bar Price Falls This Week

The week’s biggest mover on MetalMiner’s weekly Global Precious Metals price index was the price of US palladium bar, which saw a one percent decline to $576.00 per ounce. This comes on the heels of a 2.8 percent increase the week before. Japanese palladium bar gained a slight 0.5 percent this past week, finishing at JPY 1,452 ($18) per gram. Chinese palladium bar traded sideways last week, hovering around CNY 140.00 ($21.98) per gram.

The price of US platinum bar fell 0.4 percent to $1,399 per ounce after rising 0.9 percent the week before. Following a 0.5 percent increase in the week prior, the price of Chinese platinum bar fell 0.2 percent last week to CNY 309.00 ($48.52) per gram. Following a steady week, prices for Japanese platinum bar closed flat at JPY 3,547 ($45) per gram.

The price of Chinese gold bullion fell 0.8 percent to CNY 329.76 ($51.78) per gram after rising 2.3 percent the week before. Following a 3.2 percent increase in the week prior, the price of Japanese gold bullion fell 0.7 percent last week to JPY 4,054 ($51) per gram. The price of US gold bullion fell 0.5 percent to $1,612 per ounce after rising 2.8 percent the week before. Following a 1.7 percent increase in the week prior, the price of Indian gold bullion fell 0.2 percent last week to INR 29,753 ($536) per 10 grams.

The price of Indian silver rose 0.3 percent this week, closing out the third week at INR 52,680 ($949) per kilogram. The price of US silver fell 0.3 percent to $27.94 per ounce after rising 3.6 percent the week before. At CNY 5,860 ($920) per kilogram, the price of Chinese silver finished the week 0.2 percent higher. At JPY 695.00 ($8.88) per 10 grams, the week finished with no movement for Japanese silver.
