With a 1.6 percent increase on Aug. 7, 2012, US palladium bar was the biggest mover on the Global Precious Metals MMI®. Japanese palladium bar held its value on Tuesday at JPY 1,452 ($18) per gram. The price of Chinese palladium bar remained essentially flat at CNY 140.00 ($21.98) per gram.
Chinese platinum bar prices saw a 0.5 percent decline to CNY 307.50 ($48.28) per gram. US platinum bar finished the day up 0.3 percent to $1,403 per ounce. At JPY 3,547 ($45) per gram, the price of Japanese platinum bar was essentially unchanged.
Chinese gold bullion prices inched up 0.3 percent to CNY 330.90 ($51.96) per gram. The price of US gold bullion declined 0.1 percent to $1,610 per ounce, after two days of improvement. Indian gold bullion stayed flat at around INR 29,731 ($535) per 10 grams. The price of Japanese gold bullion held steady at JPY 4,054 ($51) per gram.
US silver prices rose 0.5 percent to $28.07 per ounce. At INR 52,818 ($952), the price of Indian silver finished the market day up 0.3 percent per kilogram. Chinese silver gained 0.3 percent to finish at CNY 5,875 ($922) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver showed little movement on Tuesday at JPY 695.00 ($8.88) per 10 grams.
