Japanese Palladium Bar Price Moves Up 1.8%

Closing at JPY 1,478 ($18) per gram on the Aug. 8, 2012, Japanese palladium bar rose 1.8 percent to finish as the day’s biggest mover on our global precious metals price index. US palladium bar held its value yesterday at $585.00 per ounce. At CNY 140.00 ($21.98) per gram, the price of Chinese palladium bar was essentially unchanged.

Japanese platinum bar prices rose 0.2 percent to JPY 3,555 ($45) per gram. The price of Chinese platinum bar held steady at CNY 307.50 ($48.28) per gram. US platinum bar saw little change in its price on Wednesday at $1,403 per ounce.

Indian gold bullion closed 0.3 percent lower at INR 29,638 ($534) per 10 grams. US gold bullion gained 0.3 percent to finish at $1,614 per ounce. The price of Chinese gold bullion ended a two-day climb, settling at CNY 330.90 ($51.96) per gram. The price of Japanese gold bullion remained steady at JPY 4,054 ($51) per gram.

Japanese silver finished the day up 0.4 percent to JPY 698.00 ($8.92) per 10 grams. After a 0.4 percent increase, US silver finished the day at $28.18 per ounce. Following two days of rising prices, the price of Indian silver dropped 0.2 percent to INR 52,725 ($950) per kilogram. The price of Chinese silver flattened at CNY 5,875 ($922) after two days of improvement.
