Cash Price Of Aluminum Drifts Downwards on the Day

The aluminum cash price saw the biggest decline of the day on our aluminum price index, dropping 0.6 percent on the LME to close at $1,812 per metric ton on Aug. 15, 2012. The 3-month price of aluminum weakened by 0.6 percent on the LME, settling at $1,855 per metric ton.

The Indian aluminum cash price saw little change in its price on Wednesday, remaining between $1.50 and $2.00 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday.

The price of Chinese aluminum billet moved slightly on Wednesday. After a few changeless days, prices dropped 0.3 percent. Following two days of downward movement, the Chinese aluminum cash price held steady above $2,400 per metric ton.

The price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady above $2,000 per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.
