Closing at JPY 1,472 ($18) per gram on the Aug. 15, 2012, Japanese palladium bar rose 1.2 percent to finish as the day’s biggest mover. Chinese palladium bar closed 0.7 percent lower at CNY 140.00 ($21.98) per gram. US palladium bar finished the day down 0.2 percent to $576.00 per ounce.
The price of Japanese platinum bar increased 0.7 percent to JPY 3,552 ($45) per gram. Chinese platinum bar prices inched up 0.3 percent to CNY 307.50 ($48.28) per gram. US platinum bar stayed flat at around $1,395 per ounce.
Gold and silver prices, meanwhile, were all over the board.
At CNY 328.63 ($51.60) per gram, Chinese gold bullion fell 0.7 percent yesterday. The price of Japanese gold bullion fell 0.4 percent to JPY 4,061 ($51) per gram. Following a two-day drop, the price of US gold bullion increased by 0.3 percent to $1,605 per ounce. At INR 29,941 ($539) per 10 grams, the price of Indian gold bullion was essentially unchanged.
Following a 0.6 percent rise yesterday, the price of US silver closed at $27.98 per ounce. Japanese silver finished the day up 0.4 percent to JPY 701.00 ($8.96) per 10 grams. Chinese silver prices saw a 0.3 percent decline to CNY 5,870 ($921) per kilogram. the price of Indian silver showed little movement yesterday at INR 53,115 ($957) per kilogram.
