LME, Chinese Aluminum Prices Down on the Day

Dropping 0.5 percent on the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum was the biggest mover on Aug. 16, 2012, closing at $1,845 per metric ton. On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price fell 0.5 percent to $1,803 per metric ton.

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum weakened by 0.4 percent.

A couple Chinese aluminum prices dropped, while others stayed steady Thursday.

The cash price of Chinese aluminum declined 0.4 percent, while the price of Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.3 percent.

The price of Chinese aluminum scrap was unchanged above $2,000 per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady, just north of $2,200 per metric ton.
