The day’s biggest mover was the primary aluminum 3-month price, which dropped by 0.8 percent on Aug. 17, 2012, to close at $1,830 per metric ton on the LME.
Meanwhile, the cash price of primary aluminum on the LME has been on the decline for eight days and is now at $1,793 per metric ton.
The Indian aluminum cash price gained 0.4 percent.
Chinese aluminum prices closed mixed last Friday.
The cash price of Chinese aluminum declined 0.2 percent, while the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady just north of $2,000 per metric ton.
The price of Chinese aluminum billet steadied above $2,400 per metric ton following two days of dropping prices. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw little movement, holding above $2,200 per metric ton.
