Chinese HRC Prices Down Slightly

With a decline of 0.3 percent on Aug. 22, 2012, Chinese HRC recorded the biggest price drift of the day.

For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese coking coal held flat. The price of Chinese slab steadied at above $550 per metric ton following two days of dropping prices. The prices of iron ore 58% fines from India did not change from the previous day’s range.

The steel billet cash price saw little price change yesterday on the LME at $350 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the steel billet 3-month price held steady around $355 per metric ton.

The 3-month price of the US HRC futures contract showed little movement on Wednesday, hovering around $650 per short ton. The US HRC futures contract spot price remained essentially flat at $645 per short ton.
