LME Cash Price Of Aluminum Shifts Up 1.3%

On Aug. 22, 2012, the day’s biggest mover on MetalMiner’s daily aluminum price index was the cash price of primary aluminum, which saw a 1.3 percent increase on the LME to $1,820.5 per metric ton.

Also on the LME, the aluminum 3-month price rose one percent to $1,853 per metric ton.

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum finished the market day up 0.4 percent.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Wednesday. The cash price of Chinese aluminum increased 0.2 percent. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap continues hovering above $2,000 per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.

Chinese aluminum billet held its value on Wednesday, and the price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat.
