Cash Price Of Primary Indian Aluminum Rises 1.2 Percent

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum moved up 1.2 percent on August 23, 2012, making it the day’s biggest mover. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price gained 0.8 percent to finish at $1,868 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum rose 0.4 percent to $1,828 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed yesterday. The price of Chinese aluminum billet finished the day at around $2,400 per metric ton following a 0.3 percent increase. The cash price of Chinese aluminum rose 0.2 percent . The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw little movement at around $2,000 per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat hovering above $2,200 per metric ton.
