Prices Improve for Chinese Bright Copper Scrap on Daily Index

The price of Chinese bright copper scrap rose 3.1 percent on Aug. 28, 2012, making it the day’s biggest mover on our daily copper price index.

Chinese copper bar fell 0.5 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese copper wire declined 0.5 percent as well, and so did the Chinese copper cash price.

US copper producer prices for grades 102, 110 and 122 did not move yesterday. The Japanese copper cash price continues hovering above $8,100 per metric ton for the fifth day in a row.

Finally, on the LME, the primary copper cash price increased 0.2 percent to $7,616 per metric ton. The copper 3-month price saw a 0.2 percent decline on the LME to $7,600 per metric ton.
