LME Copper Cash Price Shifts Up 1%, Chinese Prices All Rise
On Sept. 4, 2012, the day’s biggest mover on MetalMiner’s copper price index was the LME cash price, which saw a 1 percent increase to $7,649 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the copper 3-month price increased 0.9 percent to $7,657 per metric ton.
Prices of US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 gained 0.2 percent. The cash price of primary Japanese copper remained essentially flat below $8,200 per metric ton.
Prices for Chinese copper were up for the day.
The price of Chinese bright copper scrap increased 0.9 percent. Chinese copper wire finished the day with a 0.3 percent rise.
Chinese copper bar and copper cash prices both inched up 0.3 percent as well.
