US Silver Price Increases 3%

US silver saw the biggest upwards shift for the day on our price index, rising 3 percent to close at $33.68 per ounce on Sept. 9, 2012. At INR 59,623 ($1,074) per kilogram, Indian silver fell 2.1 percent last Friday. The price of Japanese silver has been on the rise for 7 days and is now at JPY 819.00 ($10.45) per 10 grams. For the 7th day in a row, the price of Chinese silver rose and is currently at CNY 6,755 ($1,065) per kilogram.

US gold bullion gained 2.0 percent to finish at $1,735 per ounce. The price of Indian gold bullion changed direction with a 1.2 percent drop. After two days of improving prices, the metal finished at INR 31,277 ($563.19) per 10 grams. Chinese gold bullion closed 0.4 percent lower at CNY 345.30 ($54.44) per gram. Japanese gold bullion held its value last Friday at JPY 4,301 ($54.90) per gram.

The price of US platinum bar has been on the rise for 9 days and is now at $1,588 per ounce. Chinese platinum bar ended the day at CNY 330.00 ($52.03) per gram, after the 0.3 percent drop last Friday. The price of Japanese platinum bar ended a two-day climb, settling at JPY 4,017 ($51.27) per gram.

At $652.00, the price of US palladium bar finished the market day up 1.4 percent per ounce. Japanese palladium bar saw its price rise 0.2 percent to JPY 1,618 ($20.65) per gram. The price of Chinese palladium bar flattened at CNY 155.00 ($24.44) after two days of improvement.
