Chinese Platinum Bar Price Rises Almost 1%
Chinese platinum bar saw the biggest upwards shift for the day on MetalMiner’s precious metals price index, rising 0.9 percent to close at CNY 338.00 ($53.35) per gram on Sept. 12, 2012. Japanese platinum bar saw its price rise 0.8 percent to JPY 4,055 ($52.14) per gram. At $1,602, the price of US platinum bar finished the market day up 0.8 percent per ounce.
Chinese palladium bar prices rose 0.6 percent to CNY 162.00 ($25.57) per gram. After a 0.6 percent increase, US palladium bar finished the day at $669.00 per ounce. Japanese palladium bar prices inched up 0.1 percent to JPY 1,673 ($21.51) per gram.
The price of US gold bullion increased 0.4 percent to $1,732 per ounce. Indian gold bullion finished the day up 0.4 percent to INR 32,063 ($579.33) per 10 grams. Japanese gold bullion gained 0.2 percent to finish at JPY 4,358 ($56.04) per gram. Chinese gold bullion finished the day up 0.2 percent to CNY 354.00 ($55.87) per gram.
US silver saw its price rise 0.4 percent to $33.48 per ounce. Indian silver prices rose 0.3 percent to INR 62,138 ($1,123) per kilogram. Chinese silver stayed flat at around CNY 7,020 ($1,108) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver remained essentially flat at JPY 838.00 ($10.78) per 10 grams.
