Chinese Silver Price Shoots Up Almost 5%

At CNY 7,250 ($1,145) per kilogram, Chinese silver moved up 4.9 percent on Sept. 14, 2012, the day’s biggest change on MetalMiner’s precious metals price index.

The price of Japanese silver climbed 4.5 percent to JPY 863.00 ($11.11) per 10 grams. US silver rose 4.1 percent to $34.68 per ounce. The price of Indian silver increased 2.0 percent to INR 62,475 ($1,127) per kilogram.

All gold prices tracked by the MetalMiner IndX℠ rose as well.

Japanese gold bullion prices rose 2.3 percent to JPY 4,428 ($57.02) per gram. Chinese gold bullion prices inched up 2.2 percent to CNY 360.76 ($56.98) per gram. At $1,767, the price of US gold bullion finished the market day up 2.1 percent per ounce. Indian gold bullion saw its price rise 0.6 percent to INR 32,147 ($580.09) per 10 grams.

The price of Japanese platinum bar jumped 3.3 percent to JPY 4,268 ($54.96) per gram. Chinese platinum bar gained 2.9 percent to finish at CNY 354.00 ($55.92) per gram. US platinum bar finished the day up 2.2 percent to $1,680 per ounce.

After a 1.9 percent increase, US palladium bar finished the day at $687.00 per ounce. The price of Chinese palladium bar has been on the rise for 7 days and is now at CNY 166.00 ($26.22) per gram. For the 9th day in a row, the price of Japanese palladium bar rose and is currently at JPY 1,702 ($21.92) per gram.
