Japanese Silver Price Falls 3.6%

On Sept. 20, 2012, the day’s biggest mover on the precious metals price index was Japanese silver, which saw a 3.6 percent decline.

The price of US silver declined 0.6 percent. Chinese silver finished the day after rising 0.5 percent. Indian silver held its value on Thursday.

The price of Japanese gold bullion, following a couple days of improvement, fell by 1.9 percent. The price of Indian gold bullion finished the market day up 0.6 percent per 10 grams. The price of Chinese gold bullion fell 0.2 percent, while the price of US gold bullion remained essentially flat at $1,770 per ounce.

Japanese platinum bar prices saw a 2.5 percent decline. The price of US platinum bar rose 0.7 percent after a two-day drop. Chinese platinum bar prices closed after a 0.6 percent rise yesterday.

The price of Japanese palladium bar declined 1.3 percent. After falling for two days, the price of US palladium bar rose 0.9 percent. The price of Chinese palladium bar remained steady.
