The LME copper cash price saw the biggest upwards shift for the day on MetalMiner’s copper price index, rising 1 percent to close at $8,240 per metric ton on Sept. 26, 2012. Also on the LME, the copper 3-month price rose 0.8 percent to $8,235 per metric ton.
Price of US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 closed with a 0.7 percent increase, following a two-day drop. The Japanese copper cash price saw hardly any change for the fifth day in a row.
Chinese copper closed mixed. Chinese copper bar ended the day after a 0.4 percent drop on Wednesday. The Chinese copper cash price fell 0.4 percent as well, while Chinese copper wire fell 0.3 percent yesterday. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap held steady.
