US Copper Producer Prices, China Copper Prices Rise

US copper producer prices saw the most action on MetalMiner’s daily copper price index. Prices for grades 102, 110 and 122 all increased 0.7 percent on Sept. 28, 2012.

For the fifth day in a row, the cash price of primary Japanese copper remained essentially flat.

Chinese copper prices were mixed for the day. The price of Chinese copper wire is back up, rising by 0.3 percent last Friday. Chinese copper bar saw its price rise 0.3 percent, and so did the Chinese copper cash price. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap saw little movement.

On the LME, the cash price of primary copper rose 0.5 percent to $8,172 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the copper 3-month price rose 0.5 percent to $8,173 per metric ton.
