Dysprosium Oxide, Most Other Rare Earths Prices Dive on Weekly Index

Dysprosium oxide dropped 11.6 percent, making it the biggest mover on the weekly Rare Earths MMI® this week. The past week saw samarium oxide close with a 6.2 percent decline.

Also, neodymium prices saw a 5.1 percent drop-off this week.

Yttria prices fell almost $1,000 per metric ton from a week ago. Praseodymium neodymium oxide weakened by 4.3 percent, while praseodymium oxide finished the week after falling 3.9 percent.

The price of neodymium oxide experienced a 3.3 percent decline from the previous week. Europium oxide finished the week falling 3.3 percent. Terbium metal closed out the week with a 2.5 percent drop. The price of rare earth carbonate declined 2.2 percent.

Terbium oxide prices were off slightly, down nearly $10 per kilogram from a week ago. Lanthanum oxide saw a 0.8 percent decline.

The only rare earth element tracked by the MetalMiner IndX℠ that finished with no movement this week: yttrium.
