LME Aluminum 3-Month Price Drifts Down

The day’s biggest mover was the aluminum 3-month price which dropped by 1.2 percent on Oct. 15, 2012 to close at $1,994 per metric ton on the LME. The cash price of primary aluminum saw a 0.9 percent decline on the LME to $1,974 per metric ton.

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum declined 0.5 percent.

Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day.

The Chinese aluminum cash price has been on the decline for 9 days. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat.

After a couple of days of decreasing prices, the price of Chinese aluminum billet held steady. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.
