Cash Price of Aluminum Rises on the Day

The cash price of primary aluminum saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 2 percent on the LME to close at $1,971 per metric ton on Oct. 19, 2012.

At $1,998, the 3-month price of aluminum finished the market day on the LME up 1.9 percent per metric ton.

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum finished the day with a 1.7 percent increase.

Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day.

The Chinese aluminum cash price rose 0.1 percent. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row.

Chinese aluminum billet and aluminum bar prices remained essentially flat.
