Strengthening prices ended a three-day flat streak as the price of Chinese HRC moved up by 1.3 percent on Oct. 30, 2012 on our steel price index.
The price of Chinese slab dropped by 0.3 percent after holding steady for a bit. The price of Chinese coking coal held steady. The prices of iron ore 58% fines from India remained in a very tight range on Oct. 30.
The cash price of steel billet flattened at $340.00 after two days of improvement on the LME. The 3-month price of steel billet saw little movement yesterday on the LME, closing out around $350.00 per metric ton.
For the fifth day in a row, the US HRC futures contract 3-month price remained essentially flat at $650.00 per short ton. The US HRC futures contract spot price saw little movement yesterday at $591.00 per short ton.
