The 3-month price of steel billet saw the biggest decline of the day on our daily steel price index, dropping 1.6 percent on the LME to close at $300.50 per metric ton on Nov. 15, 2012.
Also on the LME, the cash price of steel billet declined 1.5 percent to $300.00 per metric ton.
Chinese steel and raw materials prices closed flat for the day. The prices of iron ore 58% fines from India remained rangebound. Chinese HRC held its value on Thursday, and the price of Chinese coking coal held steady.
After a 0.2 percent increase, the US HRC futures contract 3-month price finished the day at $661.00 per short ton. The US HRC futures contract spot price saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around $618.00 per short ton.
