Daily Aluminum Price Trends
The aluminum 3-month price saw a 0.6 percent drop on the LME on Nov. 19, 2012, landing at $1,942 per metric ton and making it the biggest mover of the day on MetalMiner’s aluminum price index.
The primary aluminum cash price weakened by 0.5 percent on the LME, settling at $1,921 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum billet prices also rose 0.3 percent. The Chinese aluminum cash price rose 0.1 percent. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap remained essentially flat, and the price of Chinese aluminum bar saw little movement.
Daily Copper Price Trends
On Nov. 19, 2012, the cash price of primary copper fell by 0.6 percent on the LME, landing at $7,572 per metric ton and making it the biggest mover on the copper price index. The 3-month price of copper saw a 0.3 percent decline on the LME to $7,583 per metric ton.
The prices of US copper producer grades 102, 110 and 122 fell 0.2 percent. The cash price of primary Japanese copper continues hovering in place for the fifth day in a row.
The price of Chinese copper wire increased 0.4 percent. Chinese copper bar prices inched up 0.3 percent. The cash price of Chinese copper rose 0.3 percent to as well, while the price of Chinese bright copper scrap was unchanged.
