China HRC Steel Price Moves Down, LME Billet Stems Fall

The price of Chinese coking coal held steady. The price of Chinese slab was unchanged. The high price of iron ore 58% fines from India got closer to $135 per dry metric ton — but not quite.

After two flat days, the steel billet 3-month price inched up 0.5 percent yesterday on the LME to $302.00. Also on the LME, the cash price of steel billet increased 0.2 percent to $300.00 per metric ton.

The US HRC futures contract 3-month price steadied at $655.00 per short ton following two-days of dropping prices. The US HRC futures contract spot price saw little movement at $618.00 per short ton.
