Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Improves Slightly

 On Dec. 11, 2012, the cash price of primary Indian aluminum experienced the biggest change, rising 1.3 percent to INR 115.70 ($2.12) per kilogram. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum gained 1.3 percent to finish at $2,104 per metric ton. At $2,101, the primary aluminum cash price finished the market day on the LME up 1.1 percent per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. The cash price of Chinese aluminum remained essentially flat at CNY 15,090 ($2,418) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady at CNY 12,800 ($2,051) per metric ton. Chinese aluminum billet stayed flat at around CNY 15,100 ($2,419) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar was unchanged at CNY 14,050 ($2,251) per metric ton.
