After drifting 0.9 percent, Chinese cobalt cathodes dropped to CNY 209,000 ($33,488) per metric ton making it the biggest mover on the weekly Renewables MMI® this week. Silicon prices ticked up 0.8 percent over the past week to CNY 12,800 ($2,051) per metric ton. At CNY 480,000 ($77,089) per metric ton, the week finished with no movement for neodymium. Following a steady week, prices for Chinese steel plate closed flat at CNY 4,150 ($664.95) per metric ton.
At JPY 80,000 ($971.41) per metric ton, the price of Japanese steel plate did not change since the previous week. Korean steel plate prices held steady from the previous week at KRW 1.1 million ($1,015) per metric ton. Prices for Chinese steel plate remained constant, closing the week at CNY 4,150 ($664.95) per metric ton. Closing at $750.00 per short ton, US steel plate remained unchanged for the week.
The price of US grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) fell 5.8 percent this month to $3,491 per short ton.
