Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Declines After Improvement

Following two days of increases, the Indian aluminum cash price dropped by 0.7 percent to end at INR 115.05 ($2.12) per kilogram on Dec. 13, 2012. On the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum increased 0.2 percent to $2,134 per metric ton. The 3-month price of aluminum ended a two-day climb, settling at $2,132 per metric ton on the LME.

Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Thursday. The Chinese aluminum cash price fell 0.2 percent to CNY 15,020 ($2,401) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap continues hovering around CNY 12,800 ($2,046) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row. The price of Chinese aluminum billet held steady at CNY 15,050 ($2,406) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady at CNY 14,050 ($2,246) per metric ton.
