Cash Price of Primary Indian Nickel Drops 1.9% After Short Rise

After a 0.9 percent increase, the nickel spot price finished the day on the LME at $17,755 per metric ton. At $17,840, the nickel 3-month price finished the market day on the LME up 0.8 percent per metric ton.

Following a couple days of improvement, the price of Chinese primary nickel weakened by 1.6 percent.

The price of Chinese 304 stainless coil fell 0.5 percent yesterday after three straight days with no change. After three essentially changeless days, the price of Chinese 304 stainless steel scrap dropped 0.5 percent yesterday as well. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese 316 stainless coil held flat. The price of Chinese 316 stainless steel scrap saw little movement also.
