Chinese Copper Wire Down 0.5%
With a decline of 0.5 percent to CNY 57,210 ($9,147) per metric ton on Dec. 13, 2012, Chinese copper wire recorded the biggest price drift of the day. The price of Chinese copper bar fell 0.4 percent to CNY 58,050 ($9,281) per metric ton. The cash price of Chinese copper declined 0.4 percent to CNY 58,250 ($9,313) per metric ton. For the fifth day in a row, the price of Chinese bright copper scrap remained essentially flat at CNY 48,400 ($7,738) per metric ton.
The price of US copper producer grade 122 inched up 0.5 percent to $4.33 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 110 rose 0.5 percent to $4.33 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 102 gained 0.4 percent to finish at $4.52 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price was unchanged at JPY 640,000 ($7,690) per metric ton.
After a 0.4 percent increase, the primary copper cash price finished the day on the LME at $8,101 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the 3-month price of copper rose 0.4 percent to $8,130 per metric ton.
