Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Improves 1.9%

The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw the biggest increase at 1.9 percent, finishing at INR 118.20 ($2.17) per kilogram for Dec. 17, 2012. On the LME, the cash price of primary aluminum inched up 0.5 percent to $2,132 per metric ton. On the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum showed little movement on Monday, hovering around $2,120 per metric ton.

Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day. The Chinese aluminum cash price gained 0.1 percent to finish at CNY 15,050 ($2,410) per metric ton. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat at CNY 12,800 ($2,050) per metric ton. Chinese aluminum billet held its value yesterday at CNY 15,050 ($2,410) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady at CNY 14,050 ($2,250) per metric ton.
