Chinese Coking Coal Falls 2.9%

 Weakening prices ended a multi-day flat streak as the price of Chinese coking coal fell 2.9 percent on Dec. 20, 2012 to CNY 1,650 ($264.67) per metric ton. Chinese HRC stayed flat at around CNY 4,000 ($641.61) per metric ton. Chinese slab saw little change in its price yesterday at CNY 3,730 ($598.30) per metric ton. The price of iron ore 58% fines from India hit a high price of CNY 840.00 ($134.74) and a low price of CNY 830.00 ($133.13) per dry metric ton.

Also on the LME, the steel billet cash price saw little change in its price yesterday at $280.00 per metric ton. On the LME, the steel billet 3-month price held steady around $300.00 per metric ton.

The 3-month price of the US HRC futures contract held steady on Thursday, remaining around $655.00 per short ton. The US HRC futures contract spot price showed little movement yesterday, hovering around $642.00 per short ton.
