Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Flat

For Dec. 31, 2012, the cash price of primary aluminum didn’t move on the LME, sitting at $2,030 per metric ton. The 3-month price of aluminum steadied at $2,064 per metric ton following two-days of dropping prices on the LME. The cash price of primary Indian aluminum held steady around INR 111.75 ($2.03) per kilogram.

Chinese aluminum prices closed flat for the day. The price of Chinese aluminum scrap continues hovering around CNY 12,800 ($2,054) per metric ton for the fifth day in a row. At CNY 15,100 ($2,423) per metric ton, the price of Chinese aluminum billet was essentially unchanged. The price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat at CNY 14,050 ($2,255) per metric ton. The Chinese aluminum cash price saw little movement on Monday, closing out around CNY 15,060 ($2,417) per metric ton.
