Chinese Copper Bar Finishes Flat

Chinese copper bar remained essentially flat on Dec. 31, 2012 at CNY 58,050 ($9,315) per metric ton. The cash price of Chinese copper remained essentially flat at CNY 58,250 ($9,348) per metric ton. The price of Chinese copper wire flattened at CNY 56,950 ($9,139) after two days of improvement. The price of Chinese bright copper scrap showed little movement yesterday at CNY 47,900 ($7,687) per metric ton.

The price of US copper producer grade 122 remained essentially flat at $4.21 per pound. The Japanese copper cash price held steady at JPY 640,000 ($7,379) per metric ton. The price of US copper producer grade 102 held steady around $4.40 per pound. The price of US copper producer grade 110 saw little movement on Monday, closing out around $4.21 per pound.

The copper 3-month price held steady on Monday on the LME, remaining around $7,865 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the cash price of primary copper held steady around $7,874 per metric ton.
