Cash Price of Primary Indian Aluminum Improves 0.5%
The cash price of primary Indian aluminum saw the biggest upwards shift for the day, rising 0.5 percent to close at INR 112.35 ($2.05) per kilogram on Jan. 2, 2013. At $2,040, the cash price of primary aluminum finished the market day on the LME up 0.5 percent per metric ton. On the LME, the aluminum 3-month price increased 0.3 percent to $2,071 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were flat for the day. For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat at CNY 12,800 ($2,052) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum billet remained steady at CNY 15,100 ($2,420) per metric ton. The price of Chinese aluminum bar saw little movement at CNY 14,050 ($2,252) per metric ton. The Chinese aluminum cash price saw little movement yesterday at CNY 15,060 ($2,414) per metric ton.
