On Jan. 3, 2013, US silver jumped up 2.1 percent, landing at $30.98 per ounce and making it the day’s biggest increase. Indian silver prices rose 0.8 percent to INR 58,079 ($1,069) per kilogram. Chinese silver held its value on Thursday at CNY 6,120 ($981.62) per kilogram. The price of Japanese silver held steady at JPY 822.00 ($9.42) per 10 grams.
The price of Indian gold bullion increased 0.7 percent to INR 30,807 ($566.77) per 10 grams. After a 0.6 percent increase, US gold bullion finished the day at $1,686 per ounce. Chinese gold bullion stayed flat at around CNY 333.00 ($53.41) per gram. The price of Japanese gold bullion saw essentially no change for the fifth day in a row, remaining around JPY 4,569 ($52.34) per gram.
At CNY 326.50 ($52.37) per gram, the price of Chinese platinum bar was essentially unchanged. The price of US platinum bar remained essentially flat at $1,549 per ounce. The price of Japanese platinum bar was unchanged at JPY 4,265 ($48.86) per gram.
At $704.00, the price of US palladium bar finished the market day up 0.3 percent per ounce. The price of Japanese palladium bar continues hovering around JPY 1,910 ($21.88) per gram for the fifth day in a row. Chinese palladium bar stayed flat at around CNY 165.50 ($26.55) per gram.
