Indian Silver Changes Direction

Following two days of increases, the price of Indian silver dropped by 3.8 percent to end at INR 55,877 ($1,025) per kilogram on Jan. 4, 2013. US silver finished the day down 2.8 percent to $30.10 per ounce. The price of Chinese silver moved last Friday. After a few changeless days, prices dropped 2.8 percent to CNY 5,950 ($954.54) per kilogram. After a 2.2 percent increase, the price of Japanese silver finished the day at JPY 840.00 ($9.57) per 10 grams.

Following a couple days of improvement, the price of Indian gold bullion weakened by 1.4 percent. Prices closed at INR 30,362 ($557.20) per 10 grams. US gold bullion closed 1.3 percent lower at $1,664 per ounce. After a few days of little change, the price of Japanese gold bullion jumped 1.2 percent, landing at JPY 4,623 ($52.69) per gram. Friday saw the price of Chinese gold bullion drift down 0.5 percent to CNY 331.50 ($53.18) per gram after three quiet days.

Following three days of little change, the price of Chinese platinum bar rose by 1.5 percent to CNY 331.50 ($53.18) per gram. On the tail of a three-day flat streak, the price of Japanese platinum bar rose by 0.4 percent, settling at JPY 4,283 ($48.81) per gram. The price of US platinum bar saw little movement at $1,549 per ounce.

The price of Japanese palladium bar gained 2.7 percent, closing at JPY 1,962 ($22.36) per gram. The price of US palladium bar fell 1.7 percent to $692.00 per ounce. Closing out a three-day flat streak, the price of Chinese palladium bar moved up 1.2 percent to CNY 167.50 ($26.87) per gram.
