Rare Earths MMI®: Dysprosium Oxide Falls by 12.2%

This past week, dysprosium oxide dropped 12.2 percent on the weekly Rare Earths MMI®, landing at CNY 2,150 ($345.02) per kilogram as the week’s biggest mover. Terbium oxide saw a 6.7 percent drop-off this week to end at CNY 4,150 ($665.97) per kilogram. The price of praseodymium oxide decreased to CNY 385,000 ($61,782) per metric ton, a 6.1 percent decline from the previous week.

Cerium oxide remained essentially flat from the previous week at CNY 50,000 ($8,024) per metric ton. Europium oxide prices held steady from the previous week at CNY 6,050 ($970.87) per kilogram. At CNY 6,050 ($970.87) per kilogram, the week finished with no movement for europium oxide. Lanthanum oxide traded sideways last week, hovering around CNY 50,500 ($8,104) per metric ton.

At CNY 415,000 ($66,597) per metric ton, the price of neodymium oxide did not change since the previous week. Prices for praseodymium neodymium oxide remained constant, closing the week at CNY 295,000 ($47,340) per metric ton. Closing at CNY 34,000 ($5,456) per metric ton, rare earth carbonate remained unchanged for the week. Following a steady week, prices for samarium oxide closed flat at CNY 52,500 ($8,425) per metric ton.

Terbium metal traded sideways last week, hovering around CNY 7,850 ($1,260) per kilogram. Prices for yttria remained constant, closing the week at CNY 120,000 ($19,257) per metric ton. Yttrium remained essentially flat from the previous week at CNY 400.00 ($64.19) per kilogram.
